1. What is Myrtle House?
Myrtle House is a community hub in Llanelli offering practical support, warm spaces, and connection through a wide range of projects—from food and financial help to wellbeing, creativity, and early years care.
2. Do I need a referral to access support?
No referral is needed for most of our services. You’re welcome to walk in and speak to someone. The only exception is Llanelli Foodbank, which does require a referral from a recognised agency.
3. When is Myrtle House open to the public?
Our Community Life Hub and drop-in support are open Tuesday to Friday, 2:30pm – 4:30pm, with additional events, workshops, and warm hub sessions throughout the week.
The Community Table is open Tuesday-Friday 9am-2pm.
Myrtle House Nursery is open Monday-Friday 8am-6pm.
Myrtle House Parent & Toddlers is open every Tuesday & Thursday 10am-11.30am (during school term time).
4. How can I get help with food or essentials?
You can visit our Community Table, Warm Hub, or Community Life Hub for meals, care packages, and friendly support. If you need a Foodbank referral, we can help guide you through the process.
5. Can I volunteer at Myrtle House?
Yes! Volunteers are the heart of what we do. Whether you have time weekly or occasionally, we have opportunities in hospitality, admin, gardening, creative workshops, food prep, and more.
6. How can I donate food or supplies?
We welcome donations of non-perishable food, toiletries, and baby essentials. You can drop items at Myrtle House during opening hours or get in touch to arrange a collection point or food drive.
7. Is Myrtle House a church?
Is Myrtle House a church?
Myrtle House is both a community space and the home of Myrtle House Community Church (an Elim Pentecostal Church, Charity No. E.F.G.A. 251549). The building is owned by the church.
Alongside this, Myrtle House Ltd is a separate registered charity with its own independent Board of Trustees. Myrtle House Ltd delivers community services and projects from the building, working in partnership with the church but operating independently in its governance, decision-making, and use of funds.
While faith shapes the values of the church community, all Myrtle House services are open and welcoming to everyone, regardless of belief or background, with no expectation of faith participation.
8. What kind of activities do you run?
We offer a wide range of community projects including Community Meals, Money Support, Mental Health Drop-Ins, Dance Classes, Creative Workshops, Friendship Centre, Warm Hubs, Employment Support, Haircuts, and more - plus a vibrant Nursery and Holiday Club for children.
9. How can I support Myrtle House financially?
You can give a one-off or regular donation via our website. Every contribution helps us run vital services and meet growing local needs. You can also fundraise, become a Friend of Myrtle House, or leave a legacy gift.
