Accessing Support

Small steps of support can change everything

Reaching out for support can be the first step toward change.

If you are struggling, Myrtle House is here for you. We offer practical, respectful, and confidential support through our Community Life Hubs, Foodbank, and wider community projects.

When you contact us, you will be welcomed and listened to without judgement. Our team will take time to understand your situation and explore the support that best fits your needs.

We can help with immediate needs such as food and essentials, and we also work to connect you with wider support — including money guidance, wellbeing activities, skills workshops, and community programmes — that can help strengthen your situation over the longer term.

Our goal is not only to respond in moments of crisis, but to walk alongside people as they move toward greater stability, confidence, and hope.

Agency & Organisation Referrals

If you work for a local organisation, service, or agency and would like to refer people for support, we ask that you contact us directly to register as a referral partner.

We work closely with trusted partners — including social workers, health services, schools, charities, housing teams, and community organisations — to ensure referrals are handled well and clients receive the most appropriate support.

By signing up as a referral partner, you will:

  • Be connected with the right contact within our team

  • Receive our referral guidance and process information

  • Be able to refer clients quickly and appropriately

  • Help us coordinate support alongside other services involved

To become a referral partner, please contact us and a member of our team will guide you through the simple sign-up process.

What Happens After a Referral?

After a referral or self-referral:

  • We review your information

  • We speak with you about your situation

  • We explore the most appropriate support options

  • We may provide direct support and/or signpost you to specialist partners

  • Where appropriate, emergency food support may be offered alongside wider support

Support is needs-led and based on individual circumstances. For individuals requiring long-term assistance, we can create a personalised support plan that may include multiple services from us and partner agencies. Our aim is to help reduce the burden on individuals and families while empowering them to overcome challenges.
