Llanelli Foodbank

Emergency food support delivered with dignity, care, and connection to wider help.

At Myrtle House, our mission is to provide practical, dignity-led support to people facing acute food crisis while working to reduce the need for emergency food over time.

We recognise that food insecurity is rarely a standalone issue. It is often linked to financial pressure, wellbeing challenges, and wider life circumstances. That is why our approach goes beyond emergency food provision. Alongside food support, we offer listening, signposting, and connection into wider help — including money guidance, wellbeing support, and community-based services.

The foodbank operates as part of our wider Community Life Hub model, where emergency food is a last resort and where people can also access joined-up, place-based support designed to strengthen stability and resilience. Every person is welcomed with respect and care, and each conversation is an opportunity to connect someone to the wider support that may help prevent repeat crisis.

Our aim is not only to meet urgent need, but to help people move toward greater security, confidence, and longer-term resilience through compassionate, practical, and coordinated community support.

How to get help from the food bank

The food bank works using a Voucher System

Step 1: Get in Touch

Contact the Foodbank by phone or email and they will listen and talk through your situation. They can help you connect with an appropriate local referral partner who can assess your needs and explore the right support options with you.

Step 2: Speak with a Referral Partner

To make sure support is appropriate and joined-up, they work with trusted local agencies and support organisations. If they identify that you are facing difficulty accessing food, they can issue a foodbank voucher. They may also offer additional advice and longer-term support to help address the underlying pressures contributing to your situation.

Step 3: Visit a Community Life Hub with Your Voucher

Bring your foodbank voucher to your nearest Community Life Hub. The team will welcome you with dignity and care and provide emergency food support. Where appropriate, they can also connect you to wider help — including money guidance, wellbeing support, and other community services — to help reduce repeat crisis and strengthen stability.
